This is a groups of trees just by the front gate of the base that I pass by 4 times a day taking Luci to and from school.

Autumn is in full swing with misty rain, cooler temperatures, and gorgeous deep oranges and reds in the trees. A small protected forest weaves itself around the base and near several towns in the area, so there is gold all around as the sun shines through and a good wind sends the leaves down in a bright confetti mix not unlike the showers of flower petals that covered the streets in the spring. The girls are busy collecting leaves and pressing some and I am looking up online crafts to figure out what exactly to do with all of them. I sure love this time of year.
