Today was a taste of America in the Netherlands - Bagels and Beans. Dad and Angie, freshly flown in from the states chose the more exotic options - date pie and fig cake. I, not having been in the states for almost 2 years now, chose the bit of America, a delicious bagel sandwich. Coffee and cocoa is always good there and though my bagel was overall "American," I did enjoy a bacon that is quite local and delicious - nothing like American bacon, and a creamy European goat cheese.

We stopped quickly for some cheese at the Sittard market and to look and see if anything "jumped out" at me to use for Halloween costumes. Nothing jumped, but we were successful in getting some pesto cheese, Elise's favorite graas kaas, and a British made Mexican cheddar.

Schinnen was next for some quick cash - preparing to leave for Spain the next day. Packing for them was easy since they hadn't unpacked. For my cumbersome crew, it took the rest of the afternoon.
