Last time I ran away for a week, I felt certain that I'd have a nice internet connection and the ability to occasionally check in, update this blog, and send an email or two. Then it rained in Spain and supposedly that bit of moisture completely took out the internet for who knows how long even though the neighbors had it...
Anyway... I am running away again - this time to Paris where there hasn't been significantly enough rain to effect anything, but yes, I did ask about the internet, the dryer, the toaster and coffeepot, and yes, they are all still there and functional.
So, this Wednesday, 19 December, I will be leaving the comfort of my home for the comfort of a Paris apartment in search of a nice vacation that is more vacation than adventure.

If for some odd reason that I can't get online... do know that I will be thinking of you all this Christmas and I'll be in touch again when I return.
