Jessica has found a home.

Who's Jessica, you ask? Not a stray dog. Not a cat or a mouse or a hamster. Not even a goldfish. Nope. Jessica is a bear. A little brown bear, actually. And, what am I doing with this wild beast? Building it a house, of course. Wouldn't you?

And it's a lovely house created lovingly by Arianna and I from a large brown box. We partitioned it into 4 rooms, a front yard, a attic play room, and a roof patio. We made it a toilet and even provided little toilet paper on a roll. She has a refrigerator that really opens, a stove with burners, a nice large sink (I'm a bit jealous of her sink - it's bigger than mine!), and a beautiful blue bookshelf full of books. We have art, a vine crawling up one wall, nice lace curtains that open and shut, and a broom to clean up the wet pawprints she leaves on the floor after her bath.

Jessica has been living with us since the beginning of January. Arianna is very proud of her and has even made her some nice clothes. You can see her sitting in her swimming pool in the photograph - Jessica, the stuffed bear.

This was Arianna's 3 week project that "taught" construction and recycling. They'll do measurements and "study" other aspects of the houses. Fun and creative, yes. Educational? The jury is still out on that one.

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge you’ll never walk alone … The best thing to hold onto in life is each other. ~Audry Hepburn
