One week camping:

Hide and seek in an empty house, lots of sandwiches and pre-made food, awkward standoffs between new puppy, new pregnant cat, and antique cat, short outings, dinner with friends, dinner out, storms, heat, humidity, air mattress living, finishing a great book. Felt the baby kittens kick for the first time. Cleaned cupboards, shelves, sorted through odds and ends left behind. Through a lot stuff away.

That was Week 1 in a nutshell.

And then the truck showed up. I checked the numbers. The same two trucks. Seals the same. Trucks the same. German movers - great ones.

A full day directing furniture and boxes into rooms I'd prelabeled with sticky notes. A full evening of unpacking. And days and days...

That's been it. Since last Wednesday, except for a grocery run, a dinner break with a friend, and this morning's trip to the airport to drop off Kirk, I've been buried in boxes, paper, and stuff. Lots of stuff. It's hot, I'm tired, and unpacking is losing its charm with each move. This used to be fun. It's not fun anymore.

I tried rubbing this brass lamp, but it's not working. Where's my Genie????
