After 700 years of Moorish rule, King Jaime I conquered Valencia in 1228 and restored the Christian kingdom here.  Between 1252 and 1428 this Cathedral was built here on the site of an earlier mosque and possibly on a Roman temple of Diana, though the latter is still speculation.

For 4 Euros, you can visit it today seeing the worship areas themselves and the tiny little museum spaces that house local Catholic treasures including the infamous "Holy Grail."

Today with visitors I toured it again seeing a bit more and taking advantage somewhat of the free audio tour that is included in the entry price.
