This is a relatively new sight here.  Apparently cruise ships have been successful coming to my Valencia, so this year even more ships are sailing into the port and releasing the hoards of tourists into the old historic center of town.  If you want a relatively "tourist free" downtown, don't come on Tuesdays.  That is when the ships come in and release their bipedal cargo to clog the narrow walkways near the cathedral and mercado central.

So I'll avoid Tuesdays, and continue to enjoy the view.  The lights are pretty at night as the ship takes them all away.
