Life: Idiotropic

While this might not be the most flattering photo of this cake, it does give you a somewhat accurate picture of what I'm up against.

Boston Cream Pie - layers of white cake, chocolate cake, and vanilla custard enrobed in a coffee tinged chocolate ganache.  Heaven in one bite, if you don't mind a few calories.  Hips beware.

I didn't bake this.  Tiara did.  One afternoon she wants something sweet.  Most people would find something quick and easy.  Tiara flips through my Cuisine magazine until she finds this.

"Mom, can I make a Boston Creme pie?"

Is there any other answer, but a resounding, "Yes, please!"

Mmmm.  Delicious.

Lesson learned though:  There IS a dramatic difference in the way that cake flour and all-purpose behave in a cake.  In the absence of cake we used all-purpose which yielded a denser cake.  Will repeat with the proper flour and double the ganache.  I could eat the ganache with a spoon.
