I am thankful for two coffee dates today including one with my husband who isn't usually available on the weekdays, an entire afternoon free to cook and organize, a tomorrow filled with pie baking because we'll be celebrating with too many friends on Saturday who I am also very thankful for.
I am thankful for 10 days with my dad and Angie with food and day trips to fill our time, 9 days with a dear friend from Germany who I wish could have stayed for Saturday's feast, and thousands of pictures taken over those 19 days of visits that I hope to one day cull through and post just one or two and possibly even blog a big...
But... though time isn't abundant, friends are. And food. And the ability to share the latter with the former.
I am thankful for a housekeeper who is also my friend who will come early on Saturday "so I can sit and rest a little" even though we all know that is nearly impossible for me to do because I am me and I don't sit well unless I'm surrounded by friends and have a mug of coffee in my hand.
I'm thankful for a kitchen full of delicious smells and a dishwasher full of clean dishes, clean counters and full refrigerators, and a dog who will help clean up the "oops" that's bound to happen.
Thankful for the gift of words and fingers able to type them. My family. My friends. My crazy dog. My imbecilic cat. My pillow. 'night.

Quotes to consider...
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."
-Albert Einstein
What the heart has once owned and had, it shall never lose."
-- Henry Ward Beecher
It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped. -- Anthony Robbins
We don't stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing. -- George Bernard Shaw
An adventure is only an inconvenience rightly considered. An inconvenience is an adventure wrongly considered. -- GK Chesterton
The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn. -- Ralph Waldo Emerson
For most of history, Anonymous was a woman. -- Virginia Woolf
A friend is someone who will help you move. A real friend is someone who will help you move a body. -- anon
The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory. -- Paul Fix
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge you’ll never walk alone … The best thing to hold onto in life is each other. ~Audry Hepburn
I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it. -- Thomas Jefferson
