Luci has an unusual mind and she sees things differently from her sisters. She's also a collector - a collector of things that are beautiful or unique or special to her in some way. Little things mark memories for her and she has a phenomenal way of cataloging it all in her mind.
So, when I empty her coat pockets on occasion before washing her winter jacket, I am always a bit scared at what I may find and then really intrigued by the collections we end up with.
Thus, this is my second of what will probably be a small serious of lists made every time I wash Luci's coat - lists of the contents of her amazing pockets.

5 Jan 2007 - the first washing since we returned from Paris.
One pair of mismatched gloves- One wadded up napkin (clean, I think)
- Two wadded up tissues - also clean
- Two folded and very wrinkled business cards from La Flotille - a cafe we stopped at in Versailles
- A very tattered yellow drink umbrella that she had in her drink at La Flotille.
- A chestnut pod or similar seed pod that Luci remembers picking up near that restaurant in Versailles
- Two Paris Metro tickets that Luci said weren't hers - she found them on the ground
- 2 sprigs of natural green pine that she found at the flower market near the Notre Dame at Le Cite in Paris - she said it was near where they sold the blue and pink and red Christmas trees
- A nut - as in, a nut and a bolt. No bold, but she found a very nice shiny silver nut though she had no idea what it was, it was pretty.
- 12 rocks plus one more black volcanic rock that is almost perfectly round
- 5 pieces of broken glass - not sharp. Two opaque white and textured, two clear, and one very small pale blue piece
- 14 juniper berries that she found near the carousel at the Place du Concord in the garden of Tuilleries in Paris
Here is the link to the first "Luci's Pockets" entry that was finally posted today as well.... yes, I'm still working on catching up: http://estrogenpalace.blogspot.com/2007/12/lucis-pockets.html

Quotes to consider...
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."
-Albert Einstein
What the heart has once owned and had, it shall never lose."
-- Henry Ward Beecher
It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped. -- Anthony Robbins
We don't stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing. -- George Bernard Shaw
An adventure is only an inconvenience rightly considered. An inconvenience is an adventure wrongly considered. -- GK Chesterton
The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn. -- Ralph Waldo Emerson
For most of history, Anonymous was a woman. -- Virginia Woolf
A friend is someone who will help you move. A real friend is someone who will help you move a body. -- anon
The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory. -- Paul Fix
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge you’ll never walk alone … The best thing to hold onto in life is each other. ~Audry Hepburn
I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it. -- Thomas Jefferson
