Another Sunday morning coffee, a few more sweets to try. Two cafes con leche, then Kirk ordered a ham sandwich in white bread piped with mashed potatoes and baked. He thought it might be more like a Croque Monsieur. It wasn't. But not horrible. I ordered a Coca de cebolla... an onion tart on that traditional Spanish dough that is very thin, crunchy and just a bit too greasy for me, but delicious nonetheless.
Tiara asked that we bring her one of our favorite chocolate mousse rolls... Kirk wanted one too, so we we ordered two and Kirk was kind enough to share. Then I got the rest of these goodies to divide up among 6 plates at home. Each of the girls got one whole rich deliciously creamy chocolate profiterole eaten with gusto and begging for more. The littles wouldn't try their Creme de Catalan filled pastry in the center, but Tiara and Kirk both really like it. "It has flavor!" Kirk exclaimed with surprise. The golden topping is crunchy and sweet - almost a caramel toffee on top of the creme puff below. On the left is what Tiara and I thought would be fabulous. A thin cake with mousse of red fruits then mousse of mango. Beautiful, a work of art, not disgusting, but the fruit flavors were just not quite there. Like fruit just before it's prime. True flavor, not overly sweet, but just not fully developed either. So far our little bakery has hit a home run in all things chocolate. 6/6 love it and all of it. The others... well, it's nice to try something new.

Quotes to consider...
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."
-Albert Einstein
What the heart has once owned and had, it shall never lose."
-- Henry Ward Beecher
It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped. -- Anthony Robbins
We don't stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing. -- George Bernard Shaw
An adventure is only an inconvenience rightly considered. An inconvenience is an adventure wrongly considered. -- GK Chesterton
The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn. -- Ralph Waldo Emerson
For most of history, Anonymous was a woman. -- Virginia Woolf
A friend is someone who will help you move. A real friend is someone who will help you move a body. -- anon
The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory. -- Paul Fix
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge you’ll never walk alone … The best thing to hold onto in life is each other. ~Audry Hepburn
I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it. -- Thomas Jefferson
