Sunday the 21st.  The beginning of spring and the celebration of twelve years of marriage.  Kirk flew home from his 2 week work trip in Germany and we spent our day relaxing and spending time with the kids.

A few days ago the littles heard about this anniversary of ours and got to work.  I never expected anything.  For me, anniversary's are more of a personal thing for the couple to celebrate.  My girls just like to celebrate.  They had clay and paint outside for days playing and making enormous (yet colorful) messes just about everywhere.  They asked for paper and tape.  They had string and glue.

They got mad that I was cooking breakfast, so I obeyed and just helped a tiny bit with dinner.  I still got in trouble.

And then we got our gifts.  Rocks.  Paper weights.  The three little ones had searched the yard for the biggest rocks they could find (some up to 7" long), painted them, then created clay figures to stick to them.  Kirk had a hard time unwrapping them because Arianna had used Elmer's glue to seal each package.  They wrapped the rocks and clay figures separately.  Assembly required.

Now we have a "gallery of art" on our bookshelf with all these treasures displayed.

It was a very nice anniversary.
