Grumble.
I've been caught - on film.
I've gotten used to the speeds here. It's 50kph in the cities (about 30mph) and 100kph outside city limits UNLESS OTHERWISE POSTED. That's the tricky part. Just at the edge of our village is a school. There, the posted speed is 30kph. That's slow. Painfully, dreadfully slow.
And, it's nestled right between a 50 and a 100 zone.
Most days there is traffic and a lot of kids there. Today there was noone around, no cars, no kids, no crossing guards. I was going 40kph which is quite slow anyway...
But then I saw the camera. Milliseconds later there was a bright red flash in my face and I turned to see the two policeman in the car behind the camera throwing their heads back and laughing hysterically.
Nice.
So, in 4-6 months I'll get a ticket with my picture in it.
Driving back from the base this morning I had to go through there again. I slowed, almost to a stop, to go the appropriate speed. I flashed my lights at oncoming traffic to warn them. Six cars sped by in a row. Six more bright red flashes and six more disgruntled drivers. They were all going at least 50. Christmas is coming and those police will be getting a nice bonus, I'm sure. They're making a fortune this morning.

Quotes to consider...
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."
-Albert Einstein
What the heart has once owned and had, it shall never lose."
-- Henry Ward Beecher
It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped. -- Anthony Robbins
We don't stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing. -- George Bernard Shaw
An adventure is only an inconvenience rightly considered. An inconvenience is an adventure wrongly considered. -- GK Chesterton
The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn. -- Ralph Waldo Emerson
For most of history, Anonymous was a woman. -- Virginia Woolf
A friend is someone who will help you move. A real friend is someone who will help you move a body. -- anon
The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory. -- Paul Fix
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge you’ll never walk alone … The best thing to hold onto in life is each other. ~Audry Hepburn
I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it. -- Thomas Jefferson
