The 25 minute walk in the hotter than hot heat of San Antonio just about killed me and instantly squelched any itchy-footed guilt about spending so much time lounging by the pool. Oh no. There is NO WAY I could have done sight-seeing today. It is "face of the sun" hot. Should have known by the empty streets that 3pm is not the time to be out. Shady poolside, here I come. I'll explore in September.

Over 100. Restless and grouchy. The kids are grumpy. It’s hot. Did I say that already. Kids play. Swim. Come in. Complain. Swim and play. I’m in and out. Trying to read, but it’s hot. Even too hot to tan. Sweat and flies - not my cup o' tea.

The one good thing about this heat of the laundry that dries in just a couple of hours where it was days before. Of course, the water is so hard here, I think my clothes will sprout calcified skeletons and walk off the racks themselves. Ugh.
